How PixioDoc Handles Your Patient Photos

Last updated: 19 October 2026 · support@pixiodoc.com

PixioDoc keeps your patient photos in a dedicated clinical workspace, separate from your personal phone gallery. Every photo is filed to the right patient and visit, so you can compare progress, share a case with a colleague, and export or delete it when you need to. Patient data is stored in the EU.

Photos stay out of your personal gallery

Photos you take in PixioDoc go straight to the patient's record, not your phone's camera roll. A photo only reaches your gallery if you choose to save or export it. You can lock the app with Face ID or fingerprint, and it locks itself after 15 minutes without use.

Every photo is filed by patient and visit

Each patient has a timeline with every session in date order. Tags and status labels help you find patients as your list grows.

Compare before and after

The before-and-after slider is on every plan. Pro and Teams add side-by-side and multi-image layouts. The ghost overlay helps you match the angle of an earlier photo.

Share with colleagues, on your terms

Only you see the patients you create. A colleague sees a patient only after you share that record, as View Only, Editor or Admin. You can change or remove their access at any time. Sharing is on Pro and Teams. You can see a history of activity on your account and on each patient.

Export or delete your data

Export your data from the app, and ask support for your photo and video files — under Profile → Privacy & Security → Export Data. You can delete a photo, a session or a whole patient. When you delete your account, there is a 30-day period in which it can still be recovered by contacting support; after that, deletion is permanent. Deleted content may stay in backups for a limited period before it is removed.

Where patient data is stored

Patient data is stored in the EU. Some supporting services, such as sign-in and app-store subscriptions, run on other providers.

Who's responsible for what

Your practice decides how patient photos are used and stays responsible for them; in legal terms, you're the data controller. PixioDoc stores and processes them for you, as your data processor. For your own account, billing and support details, LM TECH LABS, LDA (the company behind PixioDoc) is responsible. A Data Processing Agreement is available at /dpa; Teams plan practices can ask support for a counter-signed copy.

How we use patient data

We don't sell patient data. Our standard practice is not to use patient data for advertising, or to train AI models on identifiable patient data.
